Introduction

What you’ll learn

Develop your leadership capability by exploring how leadership operates within complex organisational environments. This module supports you to analyse challenges in your context, apply contemporary leadership theories, and critically reflect on your leadership practice. You will identify strategies to strengthen your effectiveness, influence positive change, and support inclusive, sustainable improvement in health and social care.

How you’ll learn

You will learn through a combination of guided online learning, tutor-led discussions, and independent study. Interactive activities and reflective exercises will support you to apply leadership theory to your own organisational context, encouraging critical thinking, collaboration, and the development of practical strategies to strengthen your leadership effectiveness in health and social care.

  • Entry requirements

    Applicants should normally hold a relevant undergraduate degree or equivalent professional qualification. This module is designed for professionals working within health and social care who are currently in, or aspiring to, leadership roles. Applicants without a degree may be considered if they can demonstrate relevant professional experience and the ability to study at postgraduate level. All applicants should have access to a professional context that will enable them to reflect on leadership within their organisational environment

  • Attendance

    Delivery Method:

    Synchronous online learning (distance learning). Take part in live, timetabled online sessions using tools like video calls and virtual classrooms. You’ll learn in real time with tutors and other students, with no need to attend campus for teaching or assessments.
