Work placements
As part of your course you have the option to spend 11 months on a paid work placement in a relevant tourism organisation based in Spain. If you’re studying two languages from post-A-Level, you’ll also have the option to split this placement between countries.
Not only is your placement a fantastic way to explore and get to know a different country, it’s also a great opportunity to gain valuable tourism industry experience and apply the knowledge developed throughout your studies. It helps you develop your skills and Spanish language ability and significantly enhances your employability. You’ll have the opportunity to apply for placements with highly regarded companies within the tourism industry, such as Melia Hotels International, Steigenberg Hotels AG, Toluna and Location Vacances Express.
Live Projects
In addition to the optional 11-month work placement, you’ll also undertake highly skilled employment projects in each academic year. You’ll apply your learning alongside your language skills and work with local, national and international companies. You’ll also have the opportunity to learn from the experiences of students from other undergraduate years, as part of our wider languages community.
Networking opportunities
We’re proud of our links with UK and international tourism-related businesses, and with our alumni. You’ll have numerous opportunities to network with them at events like our annual alumni event.
