Study with us

If you want to become an outstanding professional in education, we provide you with a unique opportunity to realise your goal.

We offer everything from foundation degrees to post-doctoral research in all aspects of education. Our breadth of expertise, multi-million pound infrastructure and broad network of external partners mean we have the resources to deliver.

What makes us different is that we look at the wider education workforce, so you benefit from contact with specialists in a broad range of disciplines that impact on education, such as dyslexia or autism. You will also enjoy purpose-built, state-of-the-art facilities.

Your learning will be focused on practice, and we work extensively with schools and other education providers. Our expert lecturers – including social workers, counsellors and early years practitioners – draw upon their own experiences to give you a rich and diverse insight.

You will be surrounded by researchers who work in partnership with government departments, professional bodies and charities to shape future policy and working practices. As part of a hotbed of new ideas and innovation, you will benefit from academics sharing with you their passion and cutting-edge research findings.

Our international connections are becoming an integral part of our work. We have a developing portfolio of placements and field trips for teacher trainees and have the opportunity to take part in placements and exchanges as part of their course.

At present we have 11 Erasmus agreements in countries including Belgium, Germany, Finland, Latvia, Netherlands and Turkey. Erasmus is the European Community programme for higher education and forms part of the EU Lifelong Learning Programme, supporting cooperation between the universities of 33 countries and encouraging staff and student mobility for work and study.
