WomenInTech@Hallam
WomenInTech@Hallam is a passionate team in the School of Computing and Digital technologies at Sheffield Hallam University, driven by a vision of world where no young female or non-binary person feels that a career in technology is beyond their reach. Our mission is to actively close the gender gap in technology education by reaching beyond the walls of the University and into schools, colleges, and local communities to inspire the next generation of female technologists.
Through outreach programmes, school visits, taster days, and mentorship initiatives, we aim to spark curiosity and ambition in young women at the earliest stages of their academic journey, dismantling the stereotypes and self-doubt that too often steer them away from computing subjects. We are therefore committed to growing the number of female students who choose to study technology — because a more balanced pipeline today means a more equitable and creative industry tomorrow.
If you would like your school or college to collaborate with us or be part of our programme, please contact our WomenInTech@Hallam lead, Dr Diana Hintea, at d.hintea@shu.ac.uk.
