Sheffield Institute of Education’s TESOL Centre has been hosting twenty Colombian English-language teachers over the last two weeks.

The experienced teachers, from high schools across Colombia, covered areas of language teaching methodology selected from the British Council’s Teaching for Success CPD programme.

John Wrigglesworth and Alice Oxholm, Principal Lecturers in the SIoE, planned and delivered the course along with staff from across the Institute.

Feedback from the Colombian teachers was highly positive, praising the Sheffield Hallam lecturers, programme, and facilities.

The intensive methodology programme was supplemented by cultural events and a visit to the city’s Forge Valley School.

John Wrigglesworth commented: “working with these teachers has been a great experience and has brought a wonderful year of global engagement to an energetic and positive conclusion.”
