Language Testing and Assessment Research at Sheffield Hallam
The BALEAP biennial Conference took place in Leeds this month. With 400 delegates, the conference was the biggest yet and embraced EAP research and scholarship on a wide range of research and pedagogical issues.

Are Academic Literacies and English for Academic Purposes the same or different?
John Wrigglesworth, Principal Lecturer at Sheffield Hallam University, gave a presentation on EAP and Learning Development as Academic Meaning Making. The presentation identified essential EAP and Academic Literacies approaches, and outlined the descriptions of language that inform them.
