Language Testing and Assessment Research at Sheffield Hallam
Monday 01 April 2019
The BALEAP biennial Conference took place in Leeds this month. With 400 delegates, the conference was the biggest yet and embraced EAP research and scholarship on a wide range of research and pedagogical issues.
John Wrigglesworth, from Sheffield Hallam’s TESOL Centre, gave a presentation on his research into listening test constructs. The research looks at current Tier 4 visa requirements for International students, the challenge for academics of writing valid and reliable listening tests, and the opportunities for the EAP sector to develop a broader conception of the academic listening test construct for pre-sessional students.
