Sheffield Institute of Education and British Council (Libya) Webinar
Sunday 07 May 2017
Sheffield Institute of Education planned and delivered a series of three webinars to English-language teaching colleagues in Libya this month. The event was supported by the British Council (Libya).
Positive engagement with the Libyan educational sector has been interrupted recently. John Wrigglesworth (TESOL Centre) says that "the webinar was an attempt to maintain and develop our partnerships with colleagues in a country we have previously worked with".
Seventy people signed up for the webinar. There were representatives from at least ten universities, the Ministry of Education and the Inspection Centre.
Sessions were delivered by John Wrigglesworth, Alice Oxholm and Karen Nicholls. Juliun Ryan provided eLearning support ensuring that the online technology worked perfectly.
Following the success of the event, the TESOL team is keen to follow-up with a second webinar in Libya. The team also invites request to put on similar events elsewhere.
