Summary

Dr Paul Allan is an Associate Head at Sheffield Business School-home to over 5,500 students. Paul has over 38 years work experience and has held several Senior Management positions in private, public and charity organisations, nationally. Paul has 5 business and management degrees and is a fully Chartered Fellow member of the CIPD. Paul also holds a professional Doctorate (DBA) in Learning and Knowledge and specialises in how this can be utilised to give organisations a strategic competitive advantage.

About

I have worked professionally within industry for over 25 years where I have held several senior management positions including, private, public and charity organisations. In recent years I have worked more strategically advising and guiding senior management on how to maximise business performance. 

In addition to my professional business practices, I have maintained a strong academic profile and have taught on over 35 different business modules at both undergraduate and postgraduate studies at Sheffield Business School. I have also won 4 inspirational teaching awards at Sheffield Business School at College and at University level and I have also been nominated for numerous inspirational teaching awards over the last 13 years. 

I have 5 Business and Management Degrees which includes e-Business and Management, Business and Finance Management, International Business Management, Human Resource Management and a Professional Doctorate in Business and Management. I am also fully Chartered with the CIPD, and I hold Chartered Fellowship which was awarded after working at a Senior Management level for over 10 years. I also hold a PGCLTHE teaching qualification.

I also provide supervision to both Masters and Doctorate students on their research projects. I am very proud to say that I have successfully completed over 100 MSc/MBA supervision projects and 5 Doctorate Supervisions projects as their Director of Studies. 

In addition to the above I have also served as a Grenadier Guard in the British Army protecting the Royal Palaces of London (exemplary record) and served in countries such as Kenya, Canada (twice), Belize and the Falkland Islands.
