Current Sheffield Hallam University students will be calling alumni to find out about their time since graduating and to let them know how they can support the student community. We spoke to our student caller team to find out what they are most looking forward to and why they chose to be a part of the campaign.

Zoe, BA Education Studies 

Zoe finds the purpose of the Hallam fund to be really important and is really looking forward to promoting the cause in the coming weeks. She is excited to adopt new skills in communication and can't wait to speak with alumni about how Hallam has benefited her journey throughout university. 

In her free time, she enjoys going on walks with her dog, going to the gym and going out to eat nice food.

Salar, BSc Computer Networks 

Salar joined the Hallam Fund team as he wants to support and contribute towards the most disadvantaged students in order to give them the best experience at Sheffield Hallam. He also can't wait to speak to alumni to hear about their journey since their time at Sheffield Hallam.

In his free time, Salar loves to spend time with his family as well as going to the gym to maintain a healthy lifestyle.

Russell, BA International Business

As a disadvantaged student himself, Russell understands first hand the value the Hallam Fund has to give all students equal opportunity during their studies. He is looking forward to talking with alumni about their experiences since university, specifically about how their studies have supported them in their careers.

In his spare time, Russell loves to travel and attend concerts whenever he gets the opportunity.  

Olubunmi, BA International Business Management 

Olubunmi can't wait to be part of a team that helps provide equal opportunity to disadvantaged students, allowing them to continue their studies without financial worries. She is also really looking forward to speaking with alumni about life after Sheffield Hallam, specifically the journey to their current career path. 

In her down time, she enjoys reading books, meeting new people or just learning something new.

Manaal, MSc Dietetics

Manaal joined the Hallam Fund team to help support students from all backgrounds achieve their dreams at university. She can't wait to speak with a variety of alumni, spreading the word about the Hallam Fund and how it can benefit the students that need it most here at Sheffield Hallam. 

Mirela, BSc International Tourism Management 

This is Mirela's 3rd year on the Hallam Fund campaign. As an experienced caller, Mirella loves to hear about alumni’s life stories and also gaining career advice when speaking with alum's which studied similar courses to her. She also enjoys developing her own professional skills and improving her own personal network.  

Mirela keeps herself busy through being a volunteer committee member for six different societies.
