Doctoral student Mariam Sheilabi has passed her viva last week and has been awarded a PhD subject to minor amendments. Her studies were funded by the Libyan Embassy and the title is Studies of Biomarkers in Temporal Lobe Epilepsy. Her Director of Studies is Dr Alessandra Princivalle and Dr Adrian Hall is her first supervisor.

Scott Martin, one of our part-time PhD students based at Astra-Zeneca’s Cambridge site, with Professor Malcolm Clench as his Director of Studies, passed his PhD viva on 3rd November.  His project was entitled Mechanistic Study of Novel Drug Metabolites by LC-MS.

Scott started his PhD studies in 2008 and has completed his part-time PhD by Publication. Achieving a part-time PhD demonstrates an enormous commitment of time and effort and Scott is to be congratulated on his achievement.

Well done to both students and their Directors of Studies.
