Translation UK is an annual meeting for researchers interested in understanding the mechanisms and control of mRNA translation and its implications for development, disease, agriculture and biotechnology.
Three PhD students together with Senior Lecturers Prachi Stafford and Sue Campbell attended this year’s event which took place at Strathclyde University, Glasgow between 3-5th July.
Doctoral students Rachel Hodgson, Alex Knowles and Filipe Hanson all presented posters on their research:
Rachel: The impact of elF2B mutations and ISR-modifying drugs on elF2B localisation
Alex: Periodontopathogen Porphryomonas gingivalis modulates stress granule formation in oral epithelial cells
Filipe: Investigating the role of the delta (δ) subunit of elF2B during stress and disease
