We offer both MPhil and PhD research degrees and professional doctorates, which may be studied full or part time.
MPhil
- Full-time - 2 years research
- Part-time - 3 years research
PhD by confirmation
- Full-time - 3 years research + 1 year writing up (optional)
- Part-time - 5 years research + 2 years writing up (optional)
We also have split MPhil/PhD possibilities for international students studying abroad. These can be done on a full-time or part-time basis where the student studies in their home country at a local university or business, and visits Sheffield Hallam University for a maximum of three months per year by arrangement. The supervisor will usually make periodic visits to see the student during study time in the student's home country.
