Social work courses

On our social work courses, learn how to empower and protect vulnerable people in society as you train for a rewarding career in social work.

Our degrees in social work, social care and communities train you to work with children, families and vulnerable adults who experience problems in their lives or whose actions cause problems for others.

Practical work experience is at the heart of our courses. We are part of the South Yorkshire Teaching Partnership, which means you’ll gain experience in different settings and with a variety of service users, preparing you for your career.

If you're interested in completing a research degree in this area, you can find out about the PhD and MPhil courses we offer in health and social care.

We also offer a BSc health and social care studies 1 year top up course, and short courses in applied adult social work and specialist mental health practice.
