General Funding Terms and Conditions

Where stated the following terms and conditions apply to university scholarships, bursaries, grants, and funds. For simplicity all of which are referred to as 'bursaries' or 'bursary' on this page.

  1. The University reserves the right to correct administrative errors, which may result in you being asked to repay an award if it was paid to you in error.

  2. The University expects students to be honest and transparent in the applications they make for financial support. The University reserves the right to withhold awards from students who are found to have submitted false or fraudulent information and/or evidence as part of a bursary application. Cases of suspected fraud will be dealt with according to the University's Anti-Corruption Policy.

  3. If you have provided incorrect bank account details, the University can only reissue an award payment if the payment is returned to us through our banking system.

  4. The University is unable to accept applications, or make awards, for a bursary that was available in a previous academic year. For example, you cannot claim an award from the Student Success Scholarship for a previous academic year.

  5. If your circumstances change so that you no longer satisfy the eligibility criteria for a bursary, you will not be eligible to receive further payments.

  6. Part-time students will normally receive a proportional award based on the number of credits they are studying.

  7. If you defer entry to the University, you will be eligible for the bursaries that are available for your cohort, not those that were available at the time of your original application to join the University.

  8. The University reserves the right to close applications to a bursary before the published closing date.

  9. The University reserves the right to change the eligibility criteria of a bursary at any time. If applicable, we will publish a timeline of when changes will take effect.

  10. Receiving a bursary may affect your entitlement to benefits and/or other financial support. If you receive benefits and/or any other financial support, it is your responsibility to check whether receiving a bursary will affect your entitlement(s)/payments.

  11. The University expects all students to engage in a positive manner with support teams, in line with the University's standards of acceptable behaviour.
