Financial support for final year home students who are in hardship.

Overview

The purpose of this fund is to provide final year students, who are in hardship, with a bursary to help alleviate some of their financial pressures in the run up to final exams or coursework deadlines. This bursary has been made available through the Hallam Fund.

What you could receive

Successful applicants will be awarded £100.

Who can apply

You can apply for the scheme name if you:

  • are enrolled in the 2023/24 academic year
  • are a full-time or part-time Level 6 undergraduate student or a Level 7 postgraduate student
  • are a UK or ‘home’ fee status student
  • are paying a tuition fee to the University (or in receipt of a tuition fee loan to cover this amount)
  • have a UK bank account in your name

If you receive benefits and/or any other financial support, it is your responsibility to check whether receiving an award will affect your entitlement(s)/payments.

When to apply

Applications for the 2023/24 academic year opened on Monday 11 March 2024, and closed at 5pm on Friday 12 April.

How to apply

You will need to complete an online application form. The form will ask you to provide balance screenshots or bank statements from all of your accounts.

What happens next

Your form will be assessed. If we require further information or evidence from you, we will send an email to your Hallam email address. If you do not respond to a request for further information or evidence in a timely manner, your application will take longer to process, and your application may be closed.

When a decision has been made, we will send an email to your Hallam email address regarding the outcome of your application. We will aim to do this within 10 working days of your application being submitted – however please be aware that it may take us longer to contact you if we receive very high volumes of applications.

For successful applicants, the payment date will be confirmed in your outcome email.

If you have provided incorrect bank details, the payment date given in your outcome email will not apply. Your payment will be delayed, and it may be cancelled.
