Preparing for a study exchange or a work placement abroad?

Outgoing students

Once you have applied for your Study Exchange, and have your place confirmed, you should research your partner institution and host country. You can use our Visa Guidance webpages to help with your research. You will be invited to attend a study exchange support session which you must attend. During the session, you will be given advice about:

• Visa process and requirements
• Insurance
• Finding accommodation
• Settling in
• Culture Shock
• Keeping safe
• Managing your money

Incoming students

You will be invited to a visa support session where the International Experience Team will provide advice and guidance on your visa options and answer any queries. You will receive a guidance leaflet from your home institution with options and helpful links.
