The Sheffield Business School

The University's Sheffield Business School won the CGMA Campus of the Year Award and received a Global Grand Distinction at the third edition of the Chartered Institute of Management Accountants (CIMA) Excellence Awards.

The award recognises the university partner that has the highest number of graduates taking CIMA exams with above-average global or regional pass rate over a 12-month period.

The annual Excellence Awards recognise educational institutions and individuals across the globe who work tirelessly to support candidates through their journey towards becoming Chartered Global Management Accountants (CGMA designation holders) and shape the future of the global accounting and finance profession.

Dr Rob Wilson, Head of the Department of Finance, Accounting and Business Systems at Sheffield Hallam University, said: Our staff, students and I are delighted to see our Accounting and Finance programmes recognised by CIMA once again. This award is another on a growing list that recognises excellence in our provision and is testament to the incredible efforts of our students and teaching staff. Sheffield Business School continues to develop highly proficient talent, that is ready for the challenges of industry.”

Andrew Harding, FCMA, CGMA, Chief Executive – Management Accounting at the Association of International Certified Professionals Accountants, representing AICPA & CIMA, said: “We are delighted to celebrate the achievements of our academic partners, tuition providers and young accounting talents for the third year running. Our award winners and nominees should be an inspiration to us all to further our efforts to grow, nurture and empower future accounting, finance and business leaders across the globe. Congratulations to all of you on your success, and for getting the recognition you deserve.”

Sponsored by the Association of International Certified Professional Accountants, the global accounting organisation formed by CIMA and the American Institute of CPAs (AICPA), the CIMA Excellence Awards will be presented annually to those who have made a difference to the global accounting community and proactively supported their students towards earning their Chartered Global Management Accountant (CGMA) designation - the most widely held management accounting designation in the world.
