The award recognises the 87 projects the team have undertaken in the last year, covering 57 clients.

These included work for major companies such as Smurfit Kappa and Amazon, local businesses in the Sheffield City Region and research within the University.

The team also won Resource Efficient Pack of the Year in recognition of a project completed for pet product business Company of Animals which led to a 70% reduction in the amount of plastic packaging used in the company’s products.

Packaging design studio creative director John Kirkby, who received the awards on behalf of the team, said: “We’re delighted to have won these awards. Our team work really hard throughout the year to ensure our output is of an excellent quality so to be recognised in this way is fantastic news.

“Environmental concerns are at the heart of everything we do, so to win the award for Resource Efficient Pack of the Year means a great deal to us.”

The awards were presented virtually this year with winners announced online each day from the 23rd - 27th November and in the December issue of Packaging News.

Design Futures provide businesses, both large and small, with cutting edge structural packaging design, independent of manufacture with a focus on environmentally responsible solutions.
