The finalists of the Hallam Enterprise award

As part of the awards, the entrepreneurs were tasked with creating a one-minute video pitch for their business with supporters, stakeholders and members of the public invited to vote for their favourite.

The winner, announced at special ceremony at the Hallam i-Lab, received £3,000 in funding, donated by the event's sponsor, Santander Universities.

The winning pitch was created by James Biltaji for his automatic medication dispenser product, DoseAid.

On his win, James said:
“I am so thrilled to have won the Hallam Enterprise Awards. This win is not just a personal achievement, but a huge step to get people to see DoseAid and hear what we’re trying to do. It really shows the potential of our product in improving the lives of people with poor medication adherence and emphasises the need for innovative healthcare solutions.

“The support from the enterprise team has been really great and I am so grateful that I was chosen as one of the top 10 businesses and got the opportunity to pitch in front of more than 100 people.

“This has energised me to continue this mission to build a business that will make a tangible difference in the lives of millions who struggle with medication management.”

Helen Armitage, Head of Student Futures at Sheffield Hallam University, said: “The Hallam Enterprise Awards proved yet again that is an invaluable experience for our students and graduates to experience as they progress throughout the early stages of their business venture. The experience, skills and confidence this developed was vastly evident through the awards evening and it was truly great to witness the passion, determination and resilience our finalists have demonstrated to build their business to what it is today.”

The event was hosted by the Enterprise, Incubation and Student Futures Team at Sheffield Hallam University.
