QS Stars is a rating system that provides a detailed look at higher education institutions across the world, focusing on specific topics such as teaching strength, graduate employability, facilities, inclusiveness and innovation.

The University achieved an overall five-star rating and was awarded five stars in seven out of eight categories including teaching, student employability, academic development, innovation and inclusiveness – an increase on the number of top ranked categories since the University first received the award in 2019.

It also achieved five stars for the quality of the University’s facilities and four stars in the internationalisation category which recognised factors in international collaborations, international diversity on campus, and the support for international students.

The five-star rating was also received in the specialist subject category of Hospitality and Leisure Management.

James Richardson, director of global development and partnerships, said: “A rigorous and independent collection of data and analysis of performance metrics has again rated Sheffield Hallam as a five-star institution.

“It is hugely encouraging for the endeavour of our students, staff and partners to be recognised as ‘excellent’ by an internationally renowned benchmarking exercise. We will use the findings presented to us by QS to further improve and to advance our aim to Transform Lives.”
