Sheffield Hallam Games lecturer, Dr Tom Garner, has his virtual reality simulation, FireSIM, demonstrated at the IFIRE Conference in Massachusetts, USA. FireSIM is an immersive experience simulating consequences of arson. Designed for convicted arsonists as part of their rehabilitation and developed with cutting-edge games technologies to produce an evocative experience.

The National Cybersecurity & Forensics Alliance (NCFA) is a student-led network founded at Sheffield Hallam University, connecting cybersecurity students through collaboration, mentorship, and events. Rapidly expanding to over 20 universities, it promotes practical learning and international engagement, while fostering inclusivity through its “conditional sociability” approach to increase student participation and opportunity.
