Centre for Infrastructure Management Research Opportunities
Research Opportunities available with the Centre of Infrastructure Management (CIM)
Characterisation of polymers and nanocomposites
The characterisation of polymers requires the use of several analytical techniques to gather the required information about a polymer's structure or chemistry.
Timeshare
Using our client focused Timeshare programme, you can gain access to world class facilities. With world class facilities and an extensive range of equipment, we can often provide our clients and partners with scheduled access to specialist kit
Repair and rehabilitation solutions
Our research in this area is designed to enable us to condition monitor, inspect and survey infrastructure, e.g. bridges, buildings, heritage structures, underground systems, water retaining structures, and give expert advice on their repair and maintenance.
Accelerated Environmental Corrosion Tests
MERI has facilities available for humidity testing and neutral salt spray testing to ASTM Standard B117
Depth profiling using Raman microscopy - Confocal mode
The removal of light from outside the 'focal plane' coupled to an accurately controlled sample stage allows non-destructive depth profiling with a resolution of 2 µm using a x100 microscope objective
Going global on campus
Our on-campus GoGlobal projects and extracurricular activities help all students meet new people, experience different cultures and develop personal and professional skills.
Rice milling for the future — transforming rice milling in India and creating value from waste
Our research is transforming rice production.
