Generation Z members say they want their clothes to be sustainable but still regularly buy fast fashion, demonstrating a ‘clear gap’ between ideals and practice, new research shows.

‘Shaping Sustainable Fashion’ explores theory, practice and methodology for fashion sustainability and specifically examines the way in which contemporary fashion clothing is produced, used and discarded. As fashion and textile designers become aware of the environmental impacts associated with clothing, this book presents a range of approaches that can be used to reduce and avoid textile waste.

As London Fashion Week 2020 draws to a close, a Sheffield Hallam University fashion graduate has scooped a prestigious award in recognition of the unique narrative and concept of her final year design project.

Sheffield Hallam graduate Kelly Redhead was given a Young Entrepreneur award by the Duke of York.

Fashion design student Hattie Crowther won a British Fashion Council scholarship and now teaches as a fashion tutor at Sheffield Hallam alongside designing collections.
