Building an evidence-informed teaching system

An England-wide study helping to show how schools and teachers can become evidence-engaged

Man at a laptop taking notes

Published in 2017, this two-year study of evidence-informed teaching in England used a range of methods including over 75 interviews with teachers and leaders, state-of-the-art evidence review and content analysis of websites and documents to show how schools and teachers engage with research evidence to improve outcomes for children and young people. The self-assessment tools produced for the project enable schools and teachers to develop action plans to improve their engagement with research.
