Award Winning Teaching

Five star rating

We have been awarded five stars in the latest QS Stars international rating system. QS Stars is a rating system that provides a detailed look at higher education institutions across the world, focusing on specific topics such as teaching strength, graduate employability, research strength, inclusiveness and innovation.

The University achieved an overall five-star rating and was given the top mark in seven of the eight categories it was assessed on including teaching, employability, facilities, innovation, inclusiveness and in the specialist category of Hospitality and Leisure Management.

Our distinctive approach to teaching mixes lectures and seminars with workshops, placements and real-world projects — so you graduate with the skills and experience employers want.

University of the Year for Teaching Quality

We were The Times and The Sunday Times University of the Year for Teaching Quality in 2020, which recognised our consistently high student satisfaction scores, as measured by the independent National Student Survey (NSS).
