Commonwealth Shared Scholarship Scheme

Learn how you can apply for a Commonwealth Shared Scholarship Scheme as an international student.

Overview 

Commonwealth Shared Scholarships are for candidates from the least developed and lower middle income Commonwealth countries.

Funded by the Foreign, Commonwealth and Development Office (DFID) and the University, Commonwealth Shared Scholarships enable talented and motivated individuals to gain the knowledge and skills required for sustainable development, and are aimed at those who could not otherwise afford to study in the UK. 

What you could get

The Commonwealth Shared Scholarship covers your return airfares between your home country and the UK, tuition fees, visa costs and a living allowance whilst you’re in the UK. For more information of what you could receive, visit the Commonwealth Shared Scholarship website.

Who can apply

Applications are now open for courses starting in September 2024. You can apply online on the Commonwealth Scholarship Commission's website.
The deadline for applications is Thursday 14 December 2023.
We are offering scholarships for the following courses starting in September 2024:

  • MA Jewellery and Metalwork.
  • MSc Nutrition with Obesity and Weight Management.
  • MSc Environmental Management.
