'It felt like my dreams were coming true'

Parvin Begum from Bangladesh is currently studying MSc Public Health on a Transform Together Scholarship.

'When I came here in December 2020, I was amazed by the nature and beauty of Sheffield. My favourite thing about my course is that it is well-designed, and the tutors are very friendly, helpful and knowledgeable, and are good at recommending course-specific resources. I am grateful to Sheffield Hallam University for their outstanding support. I have had great financial, mental, and academic support including a laptop for my studies throughout COVID-19. Sheffield Hallam University has always supported the mental well-being of students throughout the pandemic. I particularly found the Welcome event and quarantine facilities after a huge support mentally for a newcomer like me.'

'When looking for scholarships, I found the Transform Together scholarship on the scholarship website Scholarships for Development. I visited the SHU website to find out more details and see how to apply. The application process was convenient, accessible, and easy to understand. Finding out that I had been selected for Transform Together Scholarship was a very memorable moment for me, it felt like my dreams were coming true, it was a great reward following two years of struggles and hardship. My family was very happy after hearing this news as the Transform Together Scholarship paved the way for me to study in the UK. As the scholarship covers half of the tuition fees, it lessened the burden on my family. I recommend potential applicants who are unable to study without funding to apply to the Transform Together Scholarship at SHU as it is a great opportunity that will help you reach your dream destination.'

'I would suggest applicants spend time on analysing their strengths and work on their statement in which you can communicate your aspiration, inspiration, and motivation for applying for the Transform Together scholarship. I wish all future talent luck in seeking this amazing opportunity as Sheffield Hallam University are doing a great job as a student-friendly education provider.'
