You’ll put your learning into practice through placements, real-world projects and work experience opportunities in every year of our undergraduate courses. Many of our courses include hands-on sessions in studios, labs or simulated environments to build your skills for your chosen industry. You’ll also get the chance to do a longer placement.

We can help prepare you for the next steps after completing your studies, whether it's getting you ready for your dream job, or supporting your goal of building a successful business to be your own boss.

95% of our UK graduates are in work or further study 15 months after graduating, and students who do a placement year earn an average of £5,500 per year more than those who didn't (2022/23 Graduate Outcomes Survey).

“My placement year has given me connections at Urban Outfitters which I’m so grateful for. I worked on several seasons, designs, garments and graphic prints for the brand. I was involved in briefing designs to international suppliers and overseeing these through to production. When I graduate, I would like to travel and gain inspiration, with the aim of eventually starting my own fashion brand.”
