Our strategy

Our University Strategy 2030 sets out the University's purpose, ambition, values and priorities for the future. It demonstrates our commitment to using the power of our teaching, our research and our people to transform lives and create knowledge that can change the world for the better.

Our Strategy was developed in consultation with staff and students, who made clear the importance of being purpose-led.

We are focused on outcomes that make an impact in three areas: enabling healthier lives, building stronger communities, and driving future economies.

This strategy will focus our work on achieving impact in these areas, which relate strongly to our purpose, our research strengths and the professions our students go into.

Firmly rooted in our region yet reaching out across the world, Sheffield Hallam will continue to make a positive impact, at a time when universities are more important to the future of society than ever before.

Our purpose

Our ambition

We will be a world-leading applied university through the impact that we have on our students and society. We will achieve this by being a dynamic and resilient University, built on a culture of collaboration, inclusion and sustainability.
