Philip Leverhulme Prize in Performing and Visual Arts for young scholars

The Philip Leverhulme Prize is designed to recognise and facilitate the work of outstanding young research scholars or practitioners of proven achievement, who have made and are continuing to make original and significant contributions to knowledge in their particular field of study.

Esther Johnson, Reader in Media Arts at SIA, was awarded the 2012–15 Philip Leverhulme Prize in Performing and Visual Arts. Her research focuses on an enquiry into documentary portraiture and oral history, via moving-image, audio and photography.
