Build your confidence with career workshops
We know it can be hard to know where to start when thinking about applications, placements or future plans. That’s why we’ve created a programme of short, practical sessions to help you build confidence in your employability skills.
Get Started On…
Our Get Started On… sessions are 30-minute online workshops designed to give you the essentials you need in key areas of employability. They’re a great way to boost your baseline knowledge and feel more prepared.
Each month you can join sessions on:
• CVs and cover letters: how to make a strong first impression
• LinkedIn: how to build a professional profile that works for you
• Interviews: what to expect and how to prepare with confidence
• Finding and applying to part-time jobs: tips to help you balance work and study
• Your placement search: strategies to get started and stand out
• Finding work in the UK & workplace culture: insight for international students and anyone curious about workplace expectations
Career Focus
Our Career Focus sessions are in-person workshops held in the Careers and Employability Hub. These 50-minute sessions give you the chance to explore a topic in more depth and get practical advice you can apply straight away.
Sessions across the year include:
• Finding and applying to Masters courses
• Finding and applying to teacher training
• Making the most of your summer
• Job applications and supporting statements
• Preparing for careers fairs
We also run an Application Café in semester two. These are relaxed, drop-in style spaces to work on applications with support on hand.
How do I sign up?
