Digital Inclusion in South Yorkshire

Digital Inclusion in South Yorkshire

Research centre
Communication and Computing Research Centre

Date
2011

Qualitative research project studying motivators of digital inclusion in South Yorkshire with an aim to deliver an evidence based, replicable and flexible model for engaging citizens and communities with the opportunities provided by digital technologies

The project worked within the local authority areas looking at neighbourhood level activities which helped residents to get online and/ or learn about digital technologies (eg digital TV, mobile phones, laptops). Their research concluded with a small study of unpaid carers living in South Yorkshire identifying barriers to them getting online, and delivering training in the home.

The project concluded in November 2011 and produced two reports for the project partners. We produced a full report on the project activities, observations, findings and recommendations. We also produced an illustrated guide to outline the projects key findings and recommendations in an easy-to-read format.
