Dr Panagiota Blouchou joined Sheffield Hallam University in 2024. Their background is in developmental and educational psychology, and involves working with quantitative data. They are involved in and contribute to research projects funded by the Education Endowment Foundation and the Youth Endowment Fund, among others.

Volunteers sought for study exploring the impact of exercise on vaccine immunity response
Researchers from Sheffield Hallam University and Leeds Beckett University are recruiting volunteers from Sheffield and Leeds to participate in a new study that will explore whether a single bout of exercise an hour before a vaccine booster jab has a positive effect on immunity levels.
SHU researchers demonstrate advances in Neuromorphic technology for sustainable AI
At AI UK (17-18 March), Sheffield Hallam University’s Smart Interactive Technologies lab showcased neuromorphic sensors, chips and robots that mimic brain function, illustrating sustainable AI potential. Visitors saw event-based cameras detect single sugar grains, learned neuromorphic chips could overcome current ML bottlenecks, and heard progress toward sensor-rich, animal-like robots.

We celebrated a year of hard work from students at the games@hallam Game Over 25 showcase and competition, with categories spanning all aspects of game development. The event was attended by friends, family and over 30 judges, not only from the games industry but research, recruitment, software engineering and more.
