Kathryn Warren
Kathryn comes from an extensive clinical background in Acute and Critical Care Nursing, as an Intensive Care Nursing Sister, and subsequently as a Critical Care Outreach Sister. She co-initiated the first Critical Care Outreach Team in North Trent, and was part of the team that developed and implemented STHFT's Early Warning Score (SHEWS). Her clinical focus was to identify, assess and manage deteriorating patients, across the spectrum of acute clinical settings.

I have been teaching subjects related to urban sustainability and resilience for the last 8 years and my research and teaching have evolved to focus upon sustainable consumption practices with a particular interest in sustainable food systems.

An interest in cognitive psychology, which I developed in my final year as an undergraduate, led me to undertake a masters in artificial intelligence in 1989, in turn this led me to enrol on a doctorate studying ways of applying artificial intelligence to education (1990-1994).
