Dr Daniel Loch
Daniel graduated from the Jade University of Applied Sciences in Wilhelmshaven, Germany, as Dipl.-Ing. (FH) in Mechatronics in 2009. After writing his diploma thesis on modulated pulse plasma technology at the Fraunhofer Institute for Surface Technology (IST) in Braunschweig, Germany, he joined Sheffield Hallam University to work on the development of a novel pulsed plasma source. He was awarded the Joint SHU-Fraunhofer IST Research Centre Award in 2016.

I am a Critical Care nurse with a special interest in patient safety and human factors. I have worked with a team and several external parties to integrate these concepts within programmes here at Sheffield Hallam University. I am passionate about improvement in health and social care and have recently returned from a secondment with the Improvement Academy where I worked on regional and national projects related to patient safety and human factors . I am a Fellow of the Higher Education Academy (HEA), a Q Fellow and an Improvement Fellow.
