Spectroscopic Ellipsometry (SE)
Explore the capabilities of the Spectroscopic Ellipsometry Unit at Materials and Engineering Research Institute, Sheffield Hallam University (MERI). Using advanced non-destructive optical methods to measure thin-film thickness, surface roughness and optical constants (refractive index and extinction coefficient) for coatings, semiconductors and multilayer structures.
Hallam Energy
Hallam Energy was established as an industrial research group offering research, knowledge transfer and consultancy services. We have delivered over 50 projects for our clients ranging from start-ups and SMEs to multinational companies and governmental bodies, both in the UK and abroad

Louise Burnie is a PhD student in the Centre for Sport Engineering Research, working in collaboration with the English Institute for Sport and British Cycling
Sarah Rawding
My main teaching interests are focused on the holistic development of children within the early years and supporting practitioners to become confident and reflective in their practice. I have a specific research interest in the promotion of positive dispositions for lifelong learning, in particular curiosity and creativity.
Alex Hamilton
My teaching covers all aspects of Physical Chemistry. My research group apply state-of-the-art computational simulations to understand reaction mechanisms and design novel catalysts.
Claire Wolstenholme
Claire Wolstenholme joined the Centre for Education and Inclusion Research in May 2006, with a background in psychology. Her interests include social and educational policy, social inclusion and the wider aspects of education, including pupil wellbeing. Claire has a particular interest in PSHE in schools
