Themis is a recognised expert in the economic modelling of the sport economy. He has modelled the UK, national and regional sport economy using the National Income Accounting methodology, and has constructed the Sport Satellite Account of the UK. He has a wealth of experience in analysing large sport-related databases (such as Active People Survey). He has participated in many European projects, including the evaluation of the Sport Satellite Methodology (together with SPEA). A point of interest is how increases in sport participation affect the economy, and vice versa, how the changes in the economic conditions influence sport participation.
