Minimum Placement Commitment

Minimum Placement Commitment

You MUST NOT resign from your placement earlier than the original date your placement was due to end – your placement will not be approved without a clear End Date.

As the sponsor of your student visa, the University must ensure that you continue on the placement which was originally approved. When your placement is approved, you MUST continue working at the SAME employer undertaking the SAME role that was approved.

If you need to make changes to your placement, you MUST first ask for permission from the Work Experience Team before you leave or change your placement.  This is also explained on the Get your placement approved page.

If you do not continue working on your approved placement, your course team will be informed and this will be treated as a student conduct and disciplinary matter under the University’s Rules and Regulations. You will not be able to secure a further placement and this may affect your visa sponsorship.

If you are given permission to change your placement, or leave your placement, you will have 30 days to begin a new placement to continue on the placement year and the course. The Work Experience Team will confirm this to you if you are given permission.

After 30 days, you MUST take a compulsory Break In Studies and you WILL NOT be able to continue the placement year.
