Our aim is to bring equality, diversity and inclusion to the heart of the University ensuring all potential and current staff, students and other stakeholders are treated fairly, and are not discriminated against on grounds of age, disability, gender identity and expression, marital status, pregnancy and maternity, race including ethnic or national origins colour or nationality, religion or belief, sex, sexual orientation, family circumstances, or any other irrelevant distinction.
Staff networks are run by and for staff at the University. They hold regular meetings as well as organise and participate in events and activities to raise awareness of equality, diversity and inclusion issues. Staff networks provide safe welcoming spaces for staff to meet, share ideas and experiences, support and inspire each other. They also provide opportunities for staff to be more active and influential in decision-making processes and effecting positive change across the University.
We support a number of staff networks who get involved in a range of activities to raise awareness about equality, diversity and inclusion and lend their knowledge, experience, and expertise to making Sheffield Hallam a welcoming and inclusive place to work and study. Some networks are well established and others are new and emerging but they all have one thing in common - they all welcome new members.
