Lindsey Cook

In an interview with Georgina Burton our Business Development Administrator, Lindsey Cook, Director, Non-Executive Director and Trustee at Wicked Minds Healthcare Consultancy, talks about how she jumped at the chance to become a mentor for the AWRC Wellbeing Accelerator and how she has been supporting the startups on the programme so far.

Tell us a bit about yourself and your areas of expertise

I have over 20 years’ experience working alongside executive level authorities in Pharmaceuticals, Medtech, Digital Health,  Charities and the NHS. I am an accomplished project manager, having led several high profile, award-winning national healthcare projects, and I have also contributed to the development of national NHS policy on commissioning, patient experience, and the National Tariff Payment system. As well as being a Director of a Healthcare Consultancy I also sit on various NHS boards, am a Non Executive Director and a Trustee for 2 Charites – one National and one Local.

My expertise is in all things Health,  from understanding the NHS commissioning landscape to reimbursement, clinical trial design and health economics. I absolutely love what I do, especially engaging with new and existing innovations.

What made you decide to become a mentor for the AWRC Wellbeing Accelerator?

One of the current innovators on the AWRC ,after working with me,  suggested I should become a mentor and introduced me. I am currently a mentor for the NHS Eastern Academic Health Science Network and enjoy that role immensely, so as you can imagine I jumped at the chance to become a mentor for the AWRC Wellbeing Accelerator

How are you supporting the startups/founders?

I have provided two NHS workshops, one looking at the complex NHS system and the other about positioning your innovations value to ensure reimbursement and affordability. I have also held a vast amount of 1 to 1 mentoring sessions which have been very interesting for me in learning more about the innovators.

How can we find out more about what you do?

You are more than welcome to contact me directly.  I am in the mentor’s section on the AWRC Wellbeing Accelerator Website, LinkedIn or alternatively get in touch through the AWRC Wellbeing Accelerator.
