As part of EU Cost Action BM1104 'Mass Spectrometry Imaging: New Tools for Healthcare Research', the BMRC recently hosted a two and half day EU funded training course on 'On-Tissue Digestion for Mass Spectrometry Imaging'.

Each day contained a mixture of lectures and practicals with lectures being given by Professor Malcolm Clench, Dr Simona Francese and Dr Laura Cole from BMRC along with Professor Isabelle Fournier, Professor Michel Salzet (University of Lille) and Dr Peter Marshall (GSK).

The practical sessions were organised by Dr Jillian Newton from BMRC who was ably assisted by PhD students Chris Mitchell, Ekta Patel and Rob Bradshaw. In total 16 trainees attended the course representing 10 EU countries. We were able to secure additional financial support for the course from the following companies, Bruker Daltonics, SunChrom AG, LabCyte and ARC Science. This meant that as well as the course itself we were able to provide some evening social activities for the delegates.
