Priority clearing

Clearing is now closed for 2025. Check back here in 2026 to find out when priority clearing opens.

We can make clearing easy for you.

Apply for priority clearing to have your place secured in advance. We have degree courses available from 72 UCAS points and foundation years from 40 points. If you achieve our clearing entry requirements, you can relax on results day morning, knowing you’ve beaten the rush.

What you need to do when priority clearing opens.

How priority clearing works:

  • We’ll take all your details on the phone. For a step-by-step guide to what our call advisers will need, see how to apply.
  • After your call, you’ll receive an email with your priority clearing reference number.
  • Your place is now guaranteed as long as you meet the clearing entry conditions in your offer email.
  • When you receive your results (or by the deadline in your email), all you need to do is email evidence of your results to admissions-results@shu.ac.uk. Please put 'Priority clearing results' in the subject heading and include your reference number.
  • As we have your details already, if you’ve achieved the clearing entry conditions in your offer email, we'll email you an unconditional offer within 24 hours (weekdays only).
  • If you don’t meet the minimum clearing entry conditions, you can call us on 0330 024 6390. We might be able to accept you onto your chosen course, or if not we can talk you through your options. View our phoneline opening times.

International Applications

If you're an international student, please use our international application form instead of applying through clearing.
