Law Clearing Courses

Clearing is your chance to find a course and start university this September. Most people apply through clearing because they didn't get their predicted grades or they had a change of heart about going to university.

You can also apply through clearing if:

• you have predicted grades but haven't received your results yet
• you’ve already accepted a place at another university or want to change courses at Sheffield Hallam
• you missed the UCAS deadline and haven’t already applied.

Degree courses are available from 72 UCAS points and foundation years from 40 points.

When you call up, you’ll need a full list of your results, including your GCSE grades.

If you’ve already applied through UCAS, it’s also good to have your UCAS Personal ID number if you're registered with UCAS or your Sheffield Hallam student ID. This is an 8-digit number you can find on emails or letters sent to you by our admissions team.

If we make you an offer, we’ll email you the details, so make sure you use an email address you can check regularly.

You’re guaranteed a place in our halls for your first year, but it's a good idea to think about your accommodation once you've secured a place through clearing or priority clearing.

Hallam Progress provides support for applicants whose personal circumstances might mean there are barriers to going to university. There’s still time to join the scheme if you’re applying through clearing. The Hallam Progress team can support with navigating the clearing process, helping you make the right decision for you, and getting everything in place for starting university.
