Course summary
- Top up your existing qualifications to BA (honours) level.
- Develop key international tourism and hospitality business management skills.
- Choose an elective module from either tourism or hospitality.
- Prepare to become a successful tourism and hospitality professional.

From enhancing your strategic thinking and crisis management skills to exploring a research topic of your choice in depth, you’ll develop into a well-rounded and socially conscious professional by the end of this course. You’ll collaborate with an external partner to gain experience and be able to meet tomorrow’s tourism and hospitality challenges and customer needs.

Applied learning
Live projects
You get the opportunity to work on a live consultancy project with an external partner to build your skills and professional experience.
Recent students have worked on analysing and developing the hospitality offer of the Yorkshire Sculpture Park, the leading international centre for modern and contemporary sculpture.
Others have contributed to developing the network of the UK Overseas Territories Conservation Forum, helping to organise their annual conference in Gibraltar. They’ve also been involved in developing Operation Make Safe, working with hotels, tour and transport operators to raise staff awareness of child protection issues.

Competitions
We’ll encourage and support you to take part in external student competitions.
Previously, one of our students won the prestigious YCO Diamond Research Award, in which 40 countries were competing. Another student was on the winning team for the prestigious Young Hoteliers Summit, organised by the École Hôtelière de Lausanne, and including a challenge provided by Marriott International.

Entry requirements
All students
Normally one from
• a HND or foundation degree in a relevant subject, with an overall merit profile from year two modules
• equivalent qualification in a relevant subject

Home students
Our tuition fee for UK students studying full-time in 2025/26 is £9,535 for the course. These fees are regulated by the UK government and therefore subject to change in future years.
If you are studying an undergraduate course, postgraduate pre-registration course or postgraduate research course over more than one academic year then your tuition fees may increase in subsequent years in line with Government regulations or UK Research and Innovation (UKRI) published fees.
