This foundation year has been designed to enhance your knowledge in advance of undergraduate study. You'll study a range of business-related topics, and apply your skills on rewarding projects and assignments. After completing your foundation, you'll have everything you need for full honours degree study, and progress directly onto the BA Digital Marketing course.

All our courses are designed around a set of key principles based on engaging you with the world, collaborating with others, challenging you to think in new ways, and providing you with a supportive environment in which you can thrive.
The course is suitable if you don't meet the entry requirements for our BA (Hons) Digital Marketing course, or you want extra preparation before starting degree-level study. You share the first year with other Sheffield Business School foundation year students, then move on to the degree.

In the foundation year, you'll study wider business topics, while specialising in your chosen subject area. You'll learn useful skills such as academic writing, work in diverse teams and learn to utilise a wide variety of data sources. In doing so, you'll fully prepare yourself for undergraduate study.

Degree preparation
After the foundation year, you will be ready to start the full degree. BA Digital Marketing is an engaging, challenging course designed to give you an in-depth understanding of the continuously evolving and fast-paced digital marketing world, including mobile and social media.
Work placements
You will have the opportunity to arrange a year-long work placement in between your second and third years of the full degree. This is typically 48 weeks long and gives you a real-world experience to prepare you for your future career. Due to our strong relationships with regional, national and international employers, we can help you to secure a great placement opportunity and support you while you are there. Previous marketing students have gained placements at companies such as IBM, Adidas, Marks & Spencer and Disney.
Live projects
Throughout your full degree course you will be actively learning through exploring and evaluating real-life organisations. In some of these instances, you will select the organisation yourself but in others your tutors will bring the real world into your classroom

All students
48 UCAS points, including 24 points from one full A level, or equivalent, or an alternative qualification such as an Access course.
If English is not your first language you need an IELTS score of 6.0 or above, with a minimum score of 5.5 in each skill.
Please note the University will only admit students who are aged 18 or over at the point of enrolment.

Fees and funding
Home students
Our tuition fee for UK students starting full-time undergraduate study in 2022/23 is £9,250 per year. During your placement year you will pay a reduced fee of £1,200.
† If you are studying an undergraduate course, postgraduate pre-registration course or postgraduate research course over more than one academic year then your tuition fees may increase in subsequent years in line with Government regulations or UK Research and Innovation (UKRI) published fees. International students
