Attendance

Attendance

Students must attend the placement for the whole period that they have been allocated to their placement.  Students must be present for the whole day/shift on all dates assigned to them by their placement provider.

All students should familiarise themselves with the Placement Attendance requirements and how to report absence from placement.

Working hours guidance

The Working Time Directive, available in the Policy Library has important information about the total number of hours you may work in a week.

Employability Hours - all third year midwifery students are eligible to claim employability hours in lieu of clinical hours for attendance at employability events.

Reporting Absence

It is essential that students report sickness absence as soon as possible to the university as well as to your placement provider when you know that you will be unable to attend your placement.  You can find guidance on reporting absence under the Student Support/Attendance and Absence tab in the Placement Information section on this site.

Time sheets

Timesheets are  now embedded within your electronic documents and can be activated and completed within 'worked hours'.
