Approval Processes for Staff and Doctoral Research

Approval Processes for Staff and Doctoral Research

The welfare of our research participants and the integrity of our research is paramount to the University. To ensure both are addressed, every research project is required to be undertaken in accordance with commonly agreed standards of good practice as laid down in the Declaration of Helsinki, by the Research Councils and the European Science Foundation amongst others. This page details the mandatory procedures staff and doctoral researchers must follow in order to comply with our research ethics policy and procedures.

Procedures

All staff, doctoral and MbyRes research at Sheffield Hallam must undergo ethical scrutiny. Ethics applications and reviews are managed through the University's Ethics Review System.

Refer to the Ethics Review System user guide for guidance on how to use the system.
