I am a poet and academic who has been practising, publishing and teaching since the early nineties. I have taught at Sheffield Hallam since 2007 and was for three years the Course leader for the MA Writing

I qualified as a therapeutic radiographer in 1987 and spent fourteen years working as a clinical radiographer in the NHS (primarily at the Leeds Teaching Hospitals NHS Trust) where I specialized in pre-treatment imaging.

I am currently employed as a Reader in Human Geography. I joined Sheffield Hallam University as a Lecturer in Economic Geography in 2006, and was the Course Leader for the BA (Hons) Human Geography degree between 2013-2015.

My practice led research incorporates subjects as diverse as the contradictions of modernist heritage; in design and architecture, the phenomenon of resistance space, aesthetics of cultural memory and the possibility of language to delineate the relational affinities of forms, while acknowledging the shifting nature of subjectivity and the problems of interpretation.

Professor Saad graduated with an honours degree in Production Engineering, MSc in Industrial Engineering and a PhD in Manufacturing Engineering from University of Nottingham.
