I joined Sheffield Hallam University in January 2022, after working at the University of Sheffield. My research interests focus on children's academic attainment, behaviour, mental health, wellbeing, and the professional development of maths and science teachers. I am also passionate about music education, children's engagement with music, and its impact.

Paul leads the BSc (Hons) Architecture course, where he has overall academic responsibility for all three years of the undergraduate degree and has been voted as one of the most “inspirational teachers” at the university.

I teach and module lead the work placement module for Politics, Applied Social Science and Sociology students, which is now in its seventh year.

I lead on Undergraduate Recruitment for the Department. My teaching is in interesting areas of programming with a particular focus on the design of both programming languages and of software frameworks
